How we compare

We compare what each tool costs at the same numbers of contacts, using each company’s official pricing page. We do not rate tools or give them scores.

Price at your number of contacts

What a paid plan costs when your list has 500, 1,000, 2,500, or 10,000 contacts.

Each company sets its own price steps. For every column we show the price of the smallest step that holds that many contacts. If a company’s steps are 500 and 2,500, the 1,000-contact column shows the 2,500 price.

Free plans are not in the price columns. Where a company has one, we note its limits separately.

Monthly and annual billing

Monthly billing and annual billing side by side.

Annual billing is shown the way the company shows it. If the official page gives a monthly figure for annual billing, we use that figure. If it only gives a yearly total, we show the yearly total and do not divide it ourselves.

List prices only

Prices before coupons, first-year deals, and prepay discounts.

Coupons, first-year discounts, and prepay offers change often and depend on conditions. The price columns show the regular price before any of these.

Price changes

When a price goes up or down, we record it.

We check each official pricing page about once a month. When a price, a plan, or a limit changes, we add it to the price changes page with the dates of the two checks it falls between.

How tables are sorted

Each category uses one fixed order, shown in a line under every table. Prices are compared before any discount. Rows with the same price are sorted by tool name, A to Z. If a price is marked “Checking”, that row is listed last.

  • Email marketing: monthly price at 1,000 contacts (billed monthly), lowest first, then tool name

Where the prices come from

Every price comes from the company’s official pricing page, in US dollars. Sales tax or VAT may be added at checkout depending on where you are. The month the prices are from is shown at the end of each comparison. When a price is past its check date, it shows as “Checking”.
